OS LS10 Light studies Italy, Japan and Denmark, 2025 Standing lamp. Lavic stone from Etna, Washi paper, found stone. Base: 34x24x6 cm (research) LS10 Standing lamp is a study in notions of mass, lightness and heaviness, transparency, translucency and opacity. The papers in the object are found and fabricated in Japan and India, while the stones are recuperated, re-elaborated or directly excavated to serve as a heavy counterbalance to the weightlessness of the paper, in the direct meeting between the two materials in the simple assembly of each object. Every stone (hence, every object) is different, as we work with high quality stones that have been discarded, left behind or recycled. OS LS07-09 Light studies Denmark, 2021-2025 Standing, pendant and wall lamps Stainless steel and Washi paper Various dimensions (research) LS07-09 are studies in notions of mass, lightness and heaviness, transparency, translucency and opacity. The paper in the objects are found and fabricated in Japan and India, while the stainless steel is worked by local artisans in Denmark and Italy, to serve as a heavy counterbalance to the weightlessness of the paper. In the pendant lamp (LS08), the steel sheets are assembled through a study of the movements and seeping through of light, which reflects and mirrors when translated through the object. In the wall lamp (LS09) the light is mirrored onto itself and then dispersed into its surroundings, softened by the sheet of washi-paper. OS LS01-06 Light studies Pendant lamps. Stone, cherry wood and Washi paper Japan, Italy and France Various dimensions (research) LS01, LS02, and LS03 are studies in notions of mass, lightness and heaviness, transparency, translucency and opacity. The paper in the objects are found and fabricated on research trips to Japan, while the stones are recuperated, re-elaborated or directly excavated to serve as a heavy counterbalance to the weightlessness of the paper. This series was made in collaboration with Italian architect, Eleonora Ghezzi. In all three pendant lamps (LS04, LS05 and LS06) a hand-carved stick of cherry wood fixes the balance between the two contrasting materials. This series was made in collaboration with Italian architect, Eleonora Ghezzi.
